Multi-Platform
The BackupAgent client software supports backups of Windows, Mac and Linux machines. Windows XP/Vista/7 and Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 are supported. Linux versions such as RedHat, SuSE and Debian are supported, as well as Mac OS X 10.4.10 and higher (Tiger) and Mac OS X 10.5.0 and higher (Leopard).
Backup open files
BackupAgent is capable of backing up open files. Leveraging Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) technology, you do not have to shut down any applications during the backup process. This means that - for example - your Word documents and Outlook emails are backed up, even when they are in use.

BackupAgent can automatically generate freemium and trial accounts for potential users. This functionality provides you with a strong marketing tool to get your prospects into using the software. Once they're hooked to this, it is an easy conversion into paying customers.
