Components
BackupAgent has 3 product components, that perform together to achieve the ultimate data protection solution.
The BackupAgent Client Software is installed on the computer that contains data, which needs to be protected. It is used to create, schedule and run backup tasks. The client software can also be used to restore data from the server to the computer. It can run tasks automatically without any human intervention.
The BackupAgent Server Software is installed on the Backup Server or BackupAgent Appliance and connects to multiple users with the Client Software. The Server Software contains a Management Console, which allows system administrators to manage user accounts and configurations, as well as monitor the entire system.
The BackupAgent Replication Software is an optional server application for replicating backup data from the Backup Server (or Appliance) to a Replication Server. This makes data loss nearly impossible.
