BackupAgent is a fast growing vendor of cloud backup software. The company was founded in 2005 'from the dorm room' when market trends such as growing bandwidth penetration, enormous data increase and the dependency on digital data for business continuity created a vision among the founders. A vision to establish a replacement for the traditional backup methods with a convenient, reliable and internet-based cloud backup platform.

From day 1, BackupAgent's focus was reach the end-customer through a channel of partners. BackupAgent does not sell direct. BackupAgent enables Service Providers, Hosting companies and Telcos to set up their own cloud backup service, powered by BackupAgent.

From its inception the company has grown to a leading company in the international cloud backup market, with 400+ partners in 50+ countries in all continents.  The company's growth is guaranteed by developing a unique innovative solution and a successful partner model.

The visionary founders are still involved in the daily operations as management team. In addition, BackupAgent is supported by a skilled board of directors and in 2007 and 2013, venture capital firms Solid Venture and Runa Capital  acquired a minority stake in BackupAgent.
